Tamara M. Adler

SENIOR MANAGER
Tamara is a consultant at INQ Consulting where she focuses on data privacy. She applies her knowledge of privacy governance, policy, operational development and risk assessment to technology acquisitions and program implementations. Whereas her legal, policy and research experience informs her practical approach to identifying and mitigating privacy risk.
Tamara regularly provides privacy consulting services to health sector organizations in Ontario and across Canada, including major hospitals, in-home care service providers and not-for-profit entities. These services extend to the commercial sector.
Prior to joining INQ Consulting, Tamara was at the Ministry of Health. Here she was part of the team that developed the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004. She also led a privacy portfolio focusing on consumer digital health access, working toward facilitating streamlined and privacy-protected information sharing between consumers and various provincial information repositories.
Tamara’s interest in data, technology and privacy was sparked during her time clerking for the Supreme Court of the Northwest Territories, and previously, at a plaintiff-side medical malpractice law firm.
Tamara has organized multiple speaker panels for the Ontario Bar Association on topics related to health and information privacy. She also serves as a Continuing Professional Development Liaison and currently acts as the Technology Liaison on the Ontario Bar Associations Health Section Committee. Tamara serves as a board member of the Street Health Community Nursing Foundation and sits on the University of Toronto's Social Sciences and Humanities Research Ethics Board.
